simply, the rocks.

I've had this post in my drafts for a long time. I originally hadn't posted it because well, I'd forgotten about it and secondly I thought it was too simple and completely unedited apart from the black & whites. But I decided just now that I'm satisfied with that. I wish my current life was a little bit more simple.

These snaps were taken at the end of last year when my husband and I moved to Sydney for a short while (he is still there for work). We lived in the heart of the city (Pitt Street) and lead a very relaxed simple life. Boy I wish I could travel back in time!

These were taken around The Rocks. I'm in love with this cosy location in Sydney. Full of old buildings, cafe's, markets, hidden lanes and live music. Too bad we didn't discover this place sooner!

It must be explained, the first photo is my husband tightly holding on to the nut shop bag full of smoked almonds (our latest obsession). And the second photo makes me giggle, Sydney roads are so complicated :)

This post makes me miss him. A whole lot. Let's hope he returns at the end of April xx.

PS. Technical stuff.yew! When I was in Sydney, I set out a challenge to only use my 50mm1.8...so that's all I've used here.

Weekend Getaway

Back to the post :P

This year Valentine's day has been non existent for us, my husband is in Sydney for work and I'm in Melbourne (that's our home). We only see each other on weekends now. It's going to be like this for another 5 weeks. Sigh. This week has been the worst yet, and next week he's not coming back on the weekend so I won't see him for 2 weeks, super sad face. Thank God for friends and family, I've been looked after really well.

To make up for missing vday I organised a little get away weekend a couple of weeks ago.One thing is for sure I really enjoy traveling with my husband especially if we're driving. On the highest volume we put on our silly voices and sing along to the music. Then when we get tired of singing we have big conversations then when we get really really tired we have silent moments. I love the feeling of being silent with someone and it's not awkward at all, you're both simply content to be in each others company.

What makes me feel loved is quality time, it's definitely my love language. I would rather spend time with my husband like go out on a date and chat for hours rather than be showered with gifts and never see him. It's how I like building relationships too, spending time one-on-one with girl friends. There are others though that feel especially loved by receiving gifts, or by being physically touched, or by receiving words of affirmation..and so on. It's amazing how enriching a relationship can be when you both know what your love language is. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend you read the 5 Languages of Love and find out what you (and your partner's) primary love language is. It took our relationship to a whole new level. If you do I'd love to hear about your experience!

So this weekend was all about fulfilling my love language and my husband's. We drove up the Great Ocean Road and stayed at Torquay's Peppers for a night. I thought Torquay was pretty average but if you love surfing then this is the place for you. It's famous for its surf beaches (bells beach in particular) which holds the famous Rip Curl comp every year. So we spent most of our weekend exploring the surrounding areas from Anglesea to Lorne. At Anglesea I fell in love with the most gorgeous cafe the Red Till check them out.

I took a few snaps, most are of the Split Point Light House near Anglesea which I absolutely loved! we stayed there for a while and enjoyed a cold drink at the Willows Tea House and as you can see below it is decorated beautifully with those colourful flags.

Quality time.

Hello all!

Just a quick update from me in sunny Sydney. Still loving it here, and it's sad to think that those 6 months might end up being shorter than anticipated.

Working in Sydney has given Wayne and I an amazing opportunity for some quality time together exploring and adventuring on glorious weather days here, what a blessing! Some photos of our adventures below.

These were all taken with the fifty one point eight. True. Also credit to the husband for taking a few of me.

With love,
Farrah

She's always singing...

I had a visit the other day from a dear Melbournian friend, she's more like a younger sister that I never had. We shall call her Miss K. She stayed the night with us and we had a little adventure and by adventure I mean shopping, walking around exploring Sydney singing silly songs.
Miss K is getting baptised next week proclaiming her faith to the world in front of her friends and family. A pretty bold move for a pretty amazing lady. I'm very excited for her. It's going to be a priviledge to see her next week making that commitment.

So while walking around I took the 5DMKII out for a play, I miss film already. Is this a good or a bad thing?

I will leave you with this song - so much happiness. Happy Wednesday y'all.
